A Little World on a Plate
The plate is the canvas, food is the paint: a world to admire before it disappears.
What the child does
Children choose a few ingredients from the kitchen, asking first, and arrange them on a plate into any picture they like: a slice of cucumber becomes a water lily, a grape an eye. Then they admire it, and photograph it, before it disappears.

What it develops
- Composition โ arranges shapes and colours inside a fixed space, the plate
- Observation โ sees food as shape and colour: a slice becomes a water lily
- Imagination โ turns everyday ingredients into a landscape or a character
- Independent decisions โ chooses, moves, removes, and decides when the world is finished
