How does a mission work?

How does the 48-hour limit work?
Once you have prepared your materials and clicked "Start Mission" to download the PDF, an automatic 48-hour timer starts for uploading the photo of your child's drawing.
This limit encourages focus and enthusiasm.
If time runs out, the button closes, but your child can happily move on to the next mission.

How to accompany the first missions
For the first 2–3 missions we suggest exploring Barti together. Open the mission, read the brief and make sure the materials are within reach. If your child struggles to see what to do, explain the brief again — but try not to think out the result for them. The aim is for them to reach the point of starting a mission on their own.
How to use a mission
Every mission gives one clear creative starting point. Open the mission or download the PDF, read the short brief and get the materials ready. Then let your child develop their own idea. It is not a "how to draw" lesson: there is no single right way to complete it.
How much help to give
At the start you can help with understanding the brief, preparing materials, or small technical difficulties. The idea, though, should stay theirs as much as possible. Instead of "draw a house here", ask "what could be here?". There is no need to correct, tidy up or demonstrate: in Barti what counts is not the prettiest result to an adult eye, it is that the solution is theirs.
How to step back after 2–3 missions
As they learn how it works, hand them small responsibilities. At first you open the mission together; later, "your Barti mission for today is ready" is enough. Let them choose the materials, interpret the brief and decide when it is finished. Be there when needed, but leave the creative decisions to them. The goal is not to remove the parent from the process: it is to move from the one who directs to the one who supports.
Why doesn't the mission show an example?
Because an example seen before starting, without meaning to, draws the boundary of what you manage to imagine.
That is why the mission itself holds no step-by-step video and no finished result to copy: first we want the child to form their own idea.
The Gallery is a different thing: it is there to browse whenever you like, once the creating is done, and it is the proof of the point. From the same prompt one child produces an animal, another a vehicle, another a world that does not exist. Different results are not a failure of Barti: they are exactly what we are after.
